We’ve been getting an increasing number of questions regarding the procedures, OEM requirements, and general cautions related to the evacuating, recycling, and charging procedures required for servicing the air conditioning (A/C) systems on hybrid vehicles using R-134a (aka HFC134a). These are the systems that have high voltage (HV) electric compressors rather than the conventional belt-driven types that we have been working on. Although there are many issues related to HV electric compressor systems that need to be understood.
